We had the privilege to be involved in the fabrication and installation of five structures in Willowton, Pietermaritzburg. The chosen insulation was alucushion which is acknowledged by the industry as the easiest thermal insulation on the market which also has and aesthetically pleasing finish with good light reflectance. The eight degree pitch in the roof allows for a steady fall for rain water to be harvested into storage tanks. The client bricked up half the sides and cladded the rest using translucent sheets to allow the use of natural light. Louvers fitted to the sides of the structure allowed for sufficient ventilation. The paint finish was battleship grey which matched the slate IBR 686 sheeting very nicely. One thing I have to say is that the timescales in fabricating and erecting all five structures was extremely quick and goes to show what can be accomplished in a short space of time.
