Span Africa services were required for an international steel structure project by the Malawi Fertilizer Company. We were asked to assist with the design and fabrication of a 15,070m² agricultural steel structure.
The project began shortly before the onset of COVID-19, which due to restrictions around public movement, posed a threat to the project completion. Due to the smart thinking of our team, and the project falling under the Agricultural Essential Services category, we were allowed to continue with the fabrication as planned.
The structure stands at 137 wide x 110 long x 6.5 high with a 10-degree pitch and has garnered a lot of attention in Liwonde, Malawai where the structure resides. Over 500 tons of steel were transported and used for the successful erecting of the build, with the project completed successfully and to client satisfaction.
